Our Parish is richly blessed by the many young families who have been attending our weekend Liturgies! As you have probably noticed, our Children’s Liturgy of the Word is growing! Your children are learning about the Gospel and how its lessons affect their own little lives. Hopefully you have had good discussions about the things they have learned!
Because our Children’s Liturgy of the Word is flourishing, we are looking for additional leaders and helpers during all our Masses. You need not have a religious education background or experience to participate in this ministry. All you need is a love for God and his children. The rest comes pretty easy! Training and curriculum are provided and the schedule is flexible.
Please prayerfully consider volunteering about one Sunday per month to share your gifts of time and talent with our little ones! Call Sheila Gilbertson at 223-5562 to ask questions or to sign up!
The youngsters of our parish are invited to leave the Assembly during the Liturgy of the Word. They go to their own space to hear the Scriptures on their own level and to engage in activities that help them to better understand the message. They return to their families during the Preparation of the Gifts. Children's Liturgy is available at our 4:30 PM, 9:00 and 11:00 AM Masses.
Gathering with a leader, the children read a Gospel for the day, hear about how it applies to them and receive a children's bulleting that goes along with what they have just learned. You would be amazed and inspired by the wisdom that is shared in these short 20 minutes. Jesus said "Unless you have faith like a child, you shall not enter the kingdom." Let us learn from the little ones in our midst.
