The 2019 recipient of the Msgr. Robert Feehan Faithful Servant Award is Alvina Reichert. Alvina generously serves our parish as an usher, gift bearer, assists at funeral luncheons and Sunday fellowship, and serves as a Faith Formation instructor every Wednesday night.
She has been instrumental in developing fundraising ideas for our parish’s wonderful Altar Society, of which she currently serves as the president. She organizes and coordinates our annual Fall Dinner. Additionally, several years ago it was her idea to begin hosting card parties on Sunday afternoons and she provides the homemade soup and sandwiches at each event.
The individual who nominated Alvina said of her:
“Her ongoing commitment to our parish is a wonderful example of someone giving freely of her time, talent, and treasure. In addition to continually seeking new ways to assist the parish, she demonstrates a ‘roll up your sleeves’ approach to turning those ideas into reality.”
Since 2013, the Msgr. Robert Feehan Faithful Servant Award is given to recognize and honor St. Mary’s Parishioners who have demonstrated outstanding dedication and service to our parish family. The award is given in honor of Msgr. Robert Feehan, who faithfully served as our parish’s pastor for nearly 50 years. He became our pastor in 1933, at the age of 35, and served until his death on September 9, 1981.
Congratulations to Alvina and thanks to all of you who so generously serve our parish!
